Not every HR role in a law firm gets close to the work. This one does. As Attorney Development Manager at a leading international law firm, you will sit at the intersection of talent strategy and legal practice — partnering directly with partners and practice group leaders on the programmes, processes, and conversations that define how associates develop, perform, and progress.

Your remit spans the full attorney development lifecycle — onboarding and early integration, performance management and evaluation cycles, promotion and partnership processes, mentoring, engagement, and career pathway design. You will be the person partners call when they need a trusted advisor on a sensitive people matter, and the person associates turn to when they need guidance on their next step. It is a role that demands discretion, credibility, and a genuine understanding of what life looks like on the fee-earning side of a law firm.

You will bring prior experience in attorney development, legal talent, or law firm HR — ideally gained within an international firm environment where you have navigated billable hour pressures, evaluation seasons, and partnership dynamics firsthand. Strong stakeholder management, programme design capability, and the ability to localise global frameworks for an Asia Pacific audience are essential.
